Kaizer Chiefs explain BIZARRE ‘ball boy’ situation

Kaizer Chiefs have released an official statement to explain why development coaches were deployed as ‘ball boys’ on Wednesday.

Kaizer Chiefs have released an official statement to explain why development coaches were deployed as ‘ball boys’ on Wednesday.

On the night, Chiefs hosted Cape Town Spurs at an empty FNB Stadium as fans were banned from attending this particular game.

Amakhosi walked away 3-2 victors, thanks to goals from Edson Castillo, Ranga Chivaviro and substitute Christian Saile.

In what came across as a bizarre situation, development coaches, including Vela Khumalo and Tshidiso Letsholonyane among others served as ball boys.

And according to Chiefs, that’s because the development players have been given some time off to focus on their exams.

Furthermore, Chiefs revealed that the said coaches volunteered to be ‘ball boys’, and nothing more.

THE BACKGROUND BEHIND KAIZER CHIEFS BALL BOYS

The incident of coaches being deployed as ball boys happened on the back of four development players refusing to be ball boys in the Chiefs vs AmaZulu game.

Ntandoyenkosi Nkosi, Omega Mdaka, Puso Dithejane, Jason Donay, Lungile Nkosi, and Siyabonga Gumede refused to be ball boys.

Dithejane has since joined TS Galaxy, Mdaka left the club while the rest of their former teammates remain suspended by Chiefs.
