Kaizer Chiefs defender ‘sees myself’ as N’Golo Kante

“I always use those strengths of mine for me to play like him. But the thing is, I always play my style,” said the Kaizer Chiefs man.

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa says he can understand why he’s often compared to French football star N’Golo Kante.

Mthethwa, who joined Amakhosi from Stellenbosch this season, ahs been praised for his work in the middle of the park.

The 29-year-old has also been a regular for Bafana Bafana under Hugo Broos.

“All I can say is, I can see myself as that type of player,” Mthethwa said as quoted by iDiski Times.

“Because the way N’Golo Kante plays; he plays with energy, aggression, everything is there. So I always use those strengths of mine for me to play like him. But the thing is, I always play my style,” said the Kaizer Chiefs man.

Mthethwa was Molefi Ntseki’s preferred player but with the former Bafana Bafana having parted ways with the Soweto Giants, it remains to be seen if the midfielder will play regularly under new coach Calvin Johnson.
