Kaizer Chiefs are set to make wholesale changes once again at the end of the season.

The Glamour Boys endured another tough campaign filled with incredible lows.

Chiefs have already been through three coaches this season and Cavin Johnson’s time already appears to be up with a permanent replacement looming.

Over the past three seasons, Kaizer Chiefs have seen no less than 33 permanent exits from the club. And now, the latest reports suggest this post-season will be no different!

Another Kaizer Chiefs wholesale clearance on the horizon

According to Citizen, George Matlou is set to part ways with Chiefs at the end of the season. The highly talented midfielder has unfortunately struggled to leave his mark at Naturena after joining the club from Swallows.

Furthermore Happy Mashiane is reportedly pushing to be released due to a lack of playing time, as per Soccer Laduma.

According to the same publication, Colombian striker Jasond Gonzalez has been deemed surplus to requirements and will be offloaded in June.

More exits are almost guaranteed at Naturena and we’ll be keeping you up to date as it unfolds.

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly eyeing former Real Madrid coach Vanderlei Luxemburg as their next mentor.

The club are expected to replace interim head coach Cavin Johnson at the end of the season.

And new reports suggest Brazilian mentor Luxemburgo is the club’s ‘second’ choice after Pitso Mosimane.

Vanderlei Luxemburgo coached Real Madrid between 2004 and 2005. Amongst the other teams the 71-year-old coached is the Brazilian national team as well as host of top clubs in South America.

Former Real Madrid coach ‘second’ choice for Chiefs

“Yes, coach Luxemburgo is one of the favourites but the first choice still remains coach Pitso Mosimane,” a source told SoccerLaduma.

“It will all depend on whether he Mosimane doesn’t join another overseas team or doesn’t renew his deal with his current team Abha Club.

“It will be tough for Kaizer Chiefs but they are playing a waiting game hence they have all these other coaches on the shortlist. Luxemburgo is one of them.”
