Incoming Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi coached AS FAR for the last time yesterday in the Throne Cup Final.

Unfortunately for Nabi, AS FAR lost 2-1 to former Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer’s Raja Athletic Club.

Nabi loses last AS FAR game and storms out

Clearly still very emotional after the match, Nabi apologised to the fans of AS FAR. He then also disclosed reasons why the team couldn’t quite fire on the day against Raja.

“I want to apologise to the fans of ASFAR for failing in a short space of time. We were not able to make them happy by coming second. This is football. We were not able to make them happy by coming second. This is football. It is better for another coach to come with a new ideas. I apologize to the Royal Army fans for losing the second title in a short period of time. I was trying to make them happy, but we did not succeed. I wanted to continue my career with the Royal Army, but life has other things in store for us. God willing, we will meet in the future. It was a strong season for the players, and I demanded a lot from them. Perhaps they were tired.” Said Nabi the media after his press conference.

That is not where it ended, however as in post-match conference Nabi stormed out and confronted a journalist.

“Don’t hold me responsible, I am a coach with advanced degrees in coaching, and you can’t talk to me about changes in this way,” Nabi said.

Now set to join Chiefs

Early indications are that Nabi will have the full backing of the Chiefs board. Apart from the technical team appointments they will also back him in the transfer window.

One would imagine that Chiefs will already have their club targets that they believe can be of use to Nabi. He may well then doing his own research on the local game and have his own names. Furthermore, he may want to bring some players who have worked under him at Yanga SC and AS FAR.

But for now, here are pictures of him storming out of the presser:
