Kaizer Chiefs reportedly want to take their preseason training to Europe next week.

According to iDiski Times, there are talks about taking Amakhosi training camp to Europe for pre-season friendlies as early as next week. The problem now is that the Soweto Giants are currently without a coach having decided not to extend Cavin Johnson’s contract. The 65-year-old coach served as interim coach from October until the end of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership.

With rivals Orlando Pirates set to take their camp to Europe in preseason, Kaizer Chiefs might look to go a similar route. The Glamour Boys have been heavily linked with Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi for several weeks. Nabi is currently with Moroccan Giants FAR Rabat but is set to leave the club for Chiefs end of the month.

According to some reports, Nabi to Chiefs is a done deal but the Tunisian coach said he still had to speak to the club.

“The South African offer was not the only one, but rather I received several offers. But I will have a meeting with the team (Rabat) president (Mohamed Haramou) to talk about this issue,” Nabi said recently.

Kaizer Chiefs to travel to Europe with or without Nabi?

“I am currently focusing on the cup semi-final match against Maghreb Fez. I tried to raise the morale of the players and told them that there is still a chance to win [the Throne Cup].”

For now, it seems like Nabi remains in Morocco and a move to Amakhosi might not be a done deal.
