Confidence has changed Evidence Makgopa as coach Jose Riveiro says ahead of Orlando Pirates Nedbank Cup clash.
Riveiro will bank on Evidence’s confidence as they look to defend their Nedbank trophy and urges his men to fight.
The Spanish manager, Riveiro says the best is yet to come from a confident Makgopa who is in fine form from the Afcon tournament.

Riveiro can’t hide his excitement about how Evidence gained confidence at the Afcon tournament and that benefits Pirates.
The reigning Nedbank champions, Pirates face Crystal Lake and Riveiro wants nothing but confidence from the lanky striker, Makgopa.
Despite being booed by Pirates fans, Evidence is regaining the confidence he possessed at Baroka before his move to Mayfair.
WHY MAKGOPA’S CONFIDENCE IS KEY FOR PIRATES
Per TimesLIVE, boasting four league goals in 13 games next to his name for Pirates, Riveiro says a confident Makgopa has a lot to offer.
“That’s the key — the confidence. That’s probably the biggest change if you’re talking about Evidence,” says Riveiro about a confident Makgopa.
“It’s about confidence and it was not easy for the boy.
“He had to go through a difficult period when he started to play for us continuously in the league.
“Sometimes the feedback he got from the stands was not fair but he managed to navigate it and to make that situation one of his strengths and a motivation to show his ability.”
WHY PIRATES FANS CAN’T DOUBT EVIDENCE’S ABILITY – RIVEIRO
The seasoned Pirates manager, Riveiro adds that Evidence managed to regain his confidence after his displays at the Afcon showpiece.
“After his performance in Ivory Coast I think nobody has any doubts about his potential,” adds Riveiro about Evidence and Pirates.
“But he’s still 23 and making his first impression at a big club like Pirates.
“He needs to now show in the second part of the season that he can do it even better because he has potential for more.
“He cannot relax or feel he’s already got a permanent starting [position] because the competition in the team is strong.
“The best is still to come from him, I’m sure, but he needs to keep that level of confidence.”
