Andile Jali was given a straight red card against Swallows.

Moroka Swallows captain Andile Jali was sent off during the quarter-final match against Mamelodi Sundowns in Atteridgeville on Saturday afternoon.

The 33-year midfielder left the Brazilians at the end of last season before joining the Soweto giants.

All eyes were on Jali and Steve Komphela as their returned to the capital city after their departures. Six minutes into the game, Jali was given a straight red card for a reckless tackle against Teboho Mokoena. Following the red card, the former Olrando Pirates man was booed off by the crowd.

Jali receives straight red against Sundowns

Many football fans thought Jali was reckless and deserved to be shown a straight red.

@RealTshemedi said, “Andile Jali is very important in this Swallows team. He should have known better. He should have done better. What type of example was that? Witt the armband on as well.”

@SamsonBaloyi16 tweeted, “Instead of 3 games, Andile Jali should get 5 games suspension. Referees should also include intent.”
