Orlando Pirates suffered a crushing loss at the hands of SuperSport United on Saturday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Jose Riveiro’s side got off to a bright start however soon thereafter, their trip to Limpopo turned into a nightmare.

The Buccaneers took the lead in the fifth minute through Fortune Makaringe who finished off at the back post after meeting Deon Hotto’s cross.

SuperSport United managed to level matters in the 34th minute through teenager Shandre Campbell. Replays however suggested that the goal shouldn’t have stood. Take a look below.

Bradley Grobler then gave the hosts the lead in the 57th minute with a header from point blank range.

SuperSport United then made it 3-1 in the 74th minute after Melusi Buthelezi gifted Shandre Campbell his brace.

Matsatsantsa walked away with a full three points at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. The victory means SuperSport United remain in second place while Orlando Pirates sit in third.

“I’m happy with the performances. The results we cannot control.” Spanish tactician Jose Riveiro told TimesLive.

“So the consistency must be in the performances and the intention, and then we try to control the results as well as possible.

“We should have finished the last 15-minutes with maybe a two or three-goal advantage and not really under stress.

“But it’s a scoring game, it’s 2-1 and we’ll take it. But the most important for me is the performance.”
