AMAKHOSI TARGETING AFCON STARS

Stanley Nwabili, the Chippa United goalkeeper, has been selected in Nigeria’s AFCON squad. Meanwhile, AmaZulu left-back Riaan Hanamub will be representing Namibia at the showpiece in Ivory Coast. Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly pursuing deals for both players as they aim to address deficiencies in problem areas of their current squad. Chiefs have a long-standing need for a new goalkeeper, with Itumeleng Khune suspended and heading for the exit at the end of the campaign and Brandon Petersen’s time seemingly up after a string of errors.

Meanwhile, at left-back, the club are unwilling to extend 33-year-old Sifiso Hlanti’s contract and is in dire need of a direct replacement to compete with Happy Mashiane on that side of their defence.
