SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has shown his sympathy towards Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki.

Ntseki was hurled with objects following a 1-0 defeat to Matsatsantsa last week Wednesday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. The 54-year-old had to be escorted by police off the field as Amakhosi supporters demanded him to resign.

Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung had to step in and calm angry supporters who demanded the resignation of Ntseki with immediate effect.

Last month, Amakhosi attacked Ntseki after their 1-0 loss to TS Galaxy in Mbombela. The club was fined R100,000 by the PSL and could face further punishement in the coming weeks.

Hunt, who coached Chiefs for one year, said football supporters needed to be more understanding.

“I’ve been there, I’ve been at (Moroka) Swallows in the boot of a car so I understand,” Hunt said.

“It’s not really for me to comment but it’s not the right way to handle things. We need to be more understanding of situations.

“Maybe they will win on Saturday then what happens? You never know in football but I think we can handle these things in other ways, it’s sad, very sad,” added Hunt.

Following their loss to United, Chiefs were eliminated from the MTN8 semi-final by Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday which has added more pressure on Ntseki.
