Hunt ‘laughs’ at Chiefs for appointing Ntseki as coach

Hunt was not alone to react to the news, Media personality Bonang Matheba, tweeted ‘Bathong’ to express her shock in Ntseki’s appointment.

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt’s tweet on Wednesday evening led to fans to believe he was responding to Molefi Ntseki’s appointment.

Ntseki’s announcement as the new head coach of Chiefs did not go well with most fans.

Since this week started, fans and media speculated over who the club will appoint as head coach. After teasing the news all week, Amakhosi then shared a “breaking” news post on Twitter which got fans excited.

Later, Chiefs’ official account posted: “Kaizer Chiefs are pleased to formally announce the appointment of Molefi Ntseki as the new Head Coach of the first team, effective immediately.”

A few minutes after the post went live, a tweet of laughing emojis and “ya” was posted on Gavin Hunt’s official Twitter page which led many to believe the former Amakhosi boss was laughing at the news.

The tweet was quickly deleted, but that did not stop Hunt from trending all night.

Hunt was fired as Chiefs coach after eight months of charge after a poor 2020/2021 PSL campaign. The current SuperSport boss though, had a good run in the CAF Champions League where the club reached the final before losing to AL Ahli. (Klonopin)

Hunt was axed after the team reached the quarter-finals for the first time in their history and many believe had he stayed, he might have got Amakhosi their first star.

Media personality Bonang Matheba, tweeted ‘Bathong’, expressing her shock and disbelief in Chiefs’ decision to appoint the former Bafana Bafana coach.

Fans were expecting Amakhosi to announce Tunisian Nasreddine Nabi as Arthur Zwane’s replacement and were left shocked by the club’s decision to appoint someone within the club.

Before his appointment on Wednesday, Ntseki was the head of technical and youth development at the Soweto giants.
