On Sunday, Kaizer Chiefs backed up their mid-week win over Swallows by also overcoming Stellenbosch in another away victory that will serve as a real confidence-booster for Amakhosi.

Chiefs’ ‘black panther’ Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana was the man of the moment on Sunday as he scored all three goals from the penalty spot, historically becoming the first player to record a hat-trick in this manner in the DStv Premiership.

Speaking to SuperSport TV after the game, Bimenyimana said he was unaware of the record, but reiterated his desire to continue contributing in any way possible to Chiefs’ resurgence.

“I am here to take this club back where it belongs… As a team, we will take the club back where it belongs.  We know it has been so long since the last trophy. So this year we are looking for something and we know what we agreed upon in the dressing room – the staff, the players…

“We know what we need to do in every game to get there. That is what I can say on that. And we are happy and we are going to keep it that way.”
