Kaizer Chiefs are ready to move for Bafana Bafana and Stellies attacker Iqraam Rayners.

AMAKHOSI MOVE IN FOR RAYNERS

According to Soccer-Laduma, Amakhosi want to revisit their interest in 28-year-old Bafana Bafana attacker Iqraam Rayners when the current season finishes.

“Chiefs have set up a meeting with Stellies where Rayners will be discussed. They need someone who can score goals for the team and Rayners has proven he is able to do that at every level,” said a source to the same publication.

Rayners has been in outstanding form this season, bagging eight goals and an assist in 20 league appearances. He’s also shown in the Nedbank Cup, providing four assists in two appearances.

Chiefs have scored 19 goals in 23 games. That means 10 top-flight teams have scored more than them. To be placed 11th out of 16 in that metric isn’t acceptable for a club of this stature, but it’s nothing new. Last season they only got 32 goals in the entire campaign. That left them with the seventh-best attack in the division even though they ended fifth. It’s clear where the issues lie. Furthermore, they were the only side in the top six with a negative goal difference. Can Rayners make a difference in this regard?

KAIZER CHIEFS TO ALLOW NGCOBO TO WALK AWAY?

According to SABC Sport, 29-year-old Njabulo Ngcobo has started talks with AmaZulu after Chiefs failed to initiate contract extension negotiations with the defender. According to his agent Siboniso Ngubane, several teams are interested in the player, not just AmaZulu. With Chiefs stalling on offering him a new deal, an exit now looks likely.

“Kaizer Chiefs is a professional club, they communicate about their intentions. Unfortunately, they have not said anything about Njabulo Ngcobo. We are in talks with different clubs in the DStv Premiership, including AmaZulu FC,” Ngubane said to Ukhozi FM.
