The result left Amakhosi in ninth place on the DStv Premiership standings with 29 points from 25 games – three adrift of TS Galaxy in eighth spot.

Speaking after the game, Gavin Hunt told SuperSport: “Well it’s the story of our season. It’s the old adage – strikers win you games and defenders win you leagues. Not that we try to defend but we concede goals every week. It’s been poor.

“We have to get better. We work on it all the time. Lot of individual stuff.”

Despite the result, Gavin Hunt still felt his side played ‘well’.

“But I’m proud of the players. They played well today. We’ve been playing well this whole season. Even the games we’ve lost or drawn we’ve played well, created chances.

“I mean we created enough chances today to win three games of football. First half could have been 4-0. We had so many opportunities.

“But I mean I’m proud of the players. I can’t ask for more. They give me everything they’ve got.”
