Gavin Hunt linked with not one but TWO DStv Premiership jobs!

It appears former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt won’t be without a job for long with not one, but TWO DStv Premiership sides reportedly interested in his services.

It appears now former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt won’t be without a job for long with not one, but TWO DStv Premiership sides reportedly interested in his services.

Gavin Hunt was axed from his role at the Soweto giants last Friday in a shock move by management less than a year into the role.

The decision proved a costly one as Hunt was paid out handsomely for his time at Naturena.

According to the Kickoff website, the nearly 57-year-old is not short of options and could well be back in the PSL top-flight as early as next season!

Gavin Hunt, who is a four-time PSL Coach of the Year and led SuperSport United to three consecutive titles and picked up a fourth title during his time at Bidvest Wits, could make a return to Matsatsantsa or Stellenbosch FC for the 2021/22 season.

“There could be a major development at SuperSport United at the end of the season with new owners set to take over. Whether the club is being sold or not, Hunt could be their new coach next season,” revealed a source.

“There was also interest from Stellenbosch before and they could revive that at the end of the season.”

Either move would likely mean a salary cut for Hunt, especially should he be offered – and accept – the Stellies role.

Gavin Hunt was prior to accepting the Kaizer Chief job linked to their bitter rivals Orlando Pirates. Whether that offer is still on the table remains to be seen, but with current coach Josef Zinnbauer not flavour of the month, watch this space!

Meanwhile, while he contemplates his next move, Hunt has a new TV role!

He will be in the SuperSport studios as an expert analyst during the upcoming Euro 2021 championships which will kick off on 11 June.
