Now in order to manage the squad, Chiefs have also seen the likes of Eric Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana, Phathutshedzo Nange, Cole Alexander, Khama Billiat and Austin Dube all leaving Naturena. Amakhosi had often used the likes Edmilson Dove, Zitha Kwinika and Siyabonga Ngezana as regular centre back options last season. It seemed as if, he was about to receive a lifeline from his former coach at Chiefs, Gavin Hunt, under whom he was a regular. But now in an unexpected turn of events, it looks as if the lanky defender might not be signed after all.

Now according to FARPost SuperSport coach Hunt has given his reasons for the club not signing Mathoho.

Why SuperSport rejected Mathoho

“He came in, Erick asked me to train and I said okay but I know we’re pretty full in that position where he plays, We’ve got Tyson [Thulani Hlatshwayo], the youngster Tanzanian [Abdurazak Hamza]. So, we’re pretty full in that position.” said Hunt on the Mathoho snub.
