Cape Town Spurs are doing everything to survive relegation. Former Pirates defender Gumede is an Urban Warrior.
The 32-year-old Gumede became a free agent after leaving Maritzburg United in January. Reports claimed the Soweto-born central defender left the Motsepe Foundation Championship side over a contractual disagreement.
Gumede started to train with Spurs last week before impressing coach Ernst Middendorp.
The former SuperSport United, Platinum Stars and Marumo Gallants star was announced on Wednesday.
“Former Maritzburg United defender, Tshepo Gumede joins the Urban Warriors! Welcome Tshepo!” Spurs announced.
Meanwhile, with a string of injuries in central defence, the former Pirates defender is expected to mark his debut for Spurs this weekend.
The Urban Warriors will take on TS Galaxy at the Athlone Stadium on Sunday at 15:30.
