The former Cape Town Spurs star left Chiefs in July 2023.

He was seemingly set to join Cape Town City, but no offer was made.

Billiat later emerged in Tshwane last month. The 33-year-old started to train with SuperSport United, as reported by @SAFootClassics via X.

Sadly for Billiat, the plan was not a success as he stopped training with Matsatsanta a Pitori.

“Former Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has stopped training with SuperSport United,” iDiski Times reported.

“But a close source has now informed iDiski Times that Billiat is no longer training with SuperSport.

“United trained Friday, Saturday and had a rest day on Sunday, then returned to training this morning and Billiat was not present in all those training sessions,” the report added.

Meanwhile, the former Chiefs and Aces Academy star has returned to where it all started.

According to Unplayable, Billiat has joined Zimbabwe Premier League club Yadah FC on a one-year-deal.

The Mufakose-born star had his breakthrough in 2009 when he signed for Cape Town Spurs (formerly Ajax Cape Town).

WILLARD KATSANDE REACTS

According to his former national team and Chiefs teammate, Katsande, Billiat’s latest move is positive for his career and the Zimbabwean Premier League.

“He is like Ronaldo moving from Europe to Asia. So he is going to boost every team in the League,” Katsande told FARPost‘s Ofhani Munyai.

“I am sure every player in the PSL [in Zimbabwe] can’t wait to start the season and there is a reason why they need to play well. There is a reason why they have to play against Yadah.

“The team he is going to, I know the owner is a very good friend of mine and I know him personally. So in terms of professionalism, he is in a good space where he just needs to focus on football,” the former Chiefs skipper added.

“It is a good decision for him to go there to revive his career, especially in this difficult moment.

“We know that he didn’t play for close to a year.

“So he needs space where he is going to be comfortable to try to come up again. He needs a different environment whereby he kicks start again. He is a fragile boy; I know him very well, so I think it was a good move for him.

“There is nothing wrong [with his move], look at Ronaldo. He went to Saudi Arabia and he is still scoring goals. We also need him to get out of retirement and help us qualify for the World Cup,” Katsande concluded.
