South Africa’s top division continues to hurtle along to what is shaping up to be an intriguing end. Little separates the teams fighting to stay in the country’s top flight while even at the top of the table Kaizer Chiefs can’t relax too much, despite their rather handsome lead.

The weekend’s fixtures begin on Friday night where Cape Town City FC will look to continue their rise up the PSL log after a poor run of form when they host Black Leopards.

The hosts sit 12th on the table, three points above bottom, but the same distance off the top eight.

Black Leopards are 14th on the table, hovering above the relegation zone on goal difference.

In Friday night’s other fixture, SuperSport United host Chippa United with the hosts looking to bounce back from their Tshwane derby defeat.

The game against Chippa can see SuperSport United move back within one point of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Both fixtures on Friday kick off at 20:00.

On Saturday, Stellenbosch are on the hunt for their third consecutive win when they host Polokwane City.

Not long ago, Stellenbosch and Polokwane City were neck-and-neck in the PSL relegation dogfight. Now, Clinton Larsen takes his team to Cape Town Stadium to visit a team four positions clear of them. Kick off for this fixture is at 15:30.

Kicking off at the same time, Golden Arrows host Kaizer Chiefs in a fixture packed with intrigue.

Steve Komphela hosts former side Kaizer at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

This venue holds bittersweet memories for Komphela, who resigned after fan violence at the stadium. Protests erupted after Chiefs lost their 2018 Nedbank Cup semi-final 2-0 to Free State Stars.

In the 18:00 kick off, a resurgent Orlando Pirates host struggling AmaZulu at Orlando Stadium.

The Buccaneers picked up a third straight victory in their last match, downing Highlands Park 3-1. Thembinkosi Lorch was back amongst the scorers while Gabadinho Mhango and Paseka Mako also netted.

There’s just one fixture on Sunday, kicking off at 15:30.  Baroka host Maritzburg United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium with the hosts desperate for a win. Baroka are joint-bottom of the PSL table on points and they’re up against the high-flying Maritzburg United.
