FIVE Kaizer Chiefs players to miss derby against Swallows?

Kaizer Chiefs are set to be without the services of a number of important first team players for this afternoon’s clash against Swallows

Kaizer Chiefs return to DStv Premiership action this afternoon when they make the short trip to the Dobsonville Stadium to face Swallows FC.

Cavin Johnson’s side will be desperate to put their previous loss against rivals Orlando Pirates behind them. Standing in their way today is another tricky Soweto rival in Swallows FC.

A win for Chiefs could push them up into the top eight. A win for Steve Komphela’s Swallows will see them move into the top four!

Kaizer Chiefs set to be without these four players

Cavin Johnson is set to be without the services of four key players this afternoon.

Itumeleng Khune has reportedly been suspended by the club while fellow goalkeeper Brandon Petersen is currently taking some time off due to mental health issues.

Keagan Dolly, Ashley Du Preez and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe on the other hand are both set to miss out through injury.

Action at the Dobsonville Stadium gets underway at 15:30. The match will be televised live on SuperSport PSL. Unfortunately for many local soccer lovers, the public broadcaster, SABC will not be broadcasted the match.

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs legend Bernard Parker has broken his silence on the leg breaking tackle he received from Mamelodi Sundowns’ Bongani Zungu.

Now plying his trade for TS Galaxy. Bernard Parker was on the receiving end of a leg breaking tackle last month.

The Bafana Bafana legend underwent immediate surgery. He is now on the mend however he’ll remain on the sidelines for an extended period of time

“I think there was ill intent in the Zungu tackle,” Parker told SportsNightAmplified on MetroFM.

“I think it was a build up of emotions from him and looking at the two goals scored by Galaxy and how he was involved. When the incident happened, it was building up to it. We are all human and things like that do happen, I am not angry.”
