The Volkswagen Golf 7 GTI, BMW M3 and Audi S3 are the common vehicles driven by footballers while many of the top earners manage to secure their dream Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s but this isn’t the case for a former Orlando Pirates star.

I’m a Lamborghini – Mlambo

Despite not having an expensive taste in vehicles, Xola Mlambo described himself as a Lamborghini following his move to AmaZulu from Orlando Pirates at the beginning of the season.

“Coaches have their own opinions, they have their own decisions to take. I was not getting game time as the coach believed someone else was offering him more but that didn’t make me less of a player.” Xola Mlambo said at the time of his transfer from Orlando Pirates to AmaZulu FC.

“But if I can make an example about a Lamborghini. You will never see most of them in the streets, and not most of the people will have one, but it doesn’t lose its value or depreciate.

“Not being seen doesn’t mean I’ve lost quality, it doesn’t mean I’m a different person. I’m still the same Xola that people were talking about at Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates. I’m still the Xola that wants to win accolades, and I can still be a better Xola with a new family that I have.”
