Burnley and Bafana striker Foster warning big bucks

23-year-old Lyle Foster recently signed a one-year contract extension with the Clarets. It’s been reported he was earning 20,000 a week which equates to just under R2 million a month. You do the maths! He’s certainly one of the best-paid South African footballers on the planet, if not THE best. An annual salary of R24 million is nothing to scoff at, and Foster has certainly earned his new contract with some stellar displays. In what’s been a baptism of fire back in the top flight for Burnley, Foster has been a shining light with three goals and two assists in seven appearances.

Foster started the journey with Orlando Pirates

Lyle Foster was born in the year 2000 in Noordgesig, Soweto, and broke through with Orlando Pirates as a youth product. He was promoted to the Buccaneers’ first team in 2017, and his first big move abroad came two years later when Ligue 1’s Monaco came calling. All told, Foster made 11 appearances for the Sea Robbers before embarking on his European adventure.
