Ex-Kaizer Chiefs star denied Marumo Gallants debut with surprise shirt number!
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase thought he had finally cracked the nod for his Marumo Gallants debut against Royal AM on Tuesday.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase thought he had finally cracked the nod for his Marumo Gallants debut against Royal AM on Tuesday.

Ntshangase was named in the starting line-up by interim coach Mpho Maleka, and in line to end an almost three-year wait for his return to topflight football.
However, Ntshangase was withdrawn from the line-up minutes before kick-off without any explanation to the media.

The only valid reason for Ntshangase’s withdrawal could be that he injured himself during the team’s warm-up session but this is not an official communication.
It’s been exactly 254 months since Ntshangase last kicked a ball in a competitive match.

Ntshangase left Chiefs in March 2021, and his final game for the Soweto giants came against Richards Bay in the Nedbank Cup in February 2021.
Interestingly, Ntshangase would have been seen wearing a surprise shirt number – the No.100 jersey for Marumo Gallants – an usual number in the PSL.

Ntshangase is renowned for being fond of the No.10 jersey wherever he has played, and even at Chiefs where he wasn’t a regular, the midfielder was handed the iconic football number in his final two seasons.
