The stalemate ended their five-match winning streak for Amakhosi.

Kaizer Chiefs stayed in fourth place, two points behind Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United, who are also vying for the second spot to represent South Africa in the CAF Champions League next season.

Orlando Pirates secured a 2-0 victory against Chippa United earlier on Saturday, while SuperSport United beat TS Galaxy by the same score on Good Friday.

Kaizer Chiefs took the lead thanks to Ashley du Preez’s opener in the sixth minute, but defender Edmilson Dove’s mistake gifted Marumo Gallants’ Ranga Chivaviro with an easy equaliser in the 36th minute.

Marumo Gallants’ valuable point moved them off away the bottom of the log on goal difference with Maritzburg United now the 16th and last side facing automatic relegation from the top-flight.
