Doc Khumalo is a fan of Du Preez

Amakhosi are enduring a difficult spell, winless in four games without a single victory in September.

“Ashley he’s the only player that I can single out to say ‘what a great performance’,” Khumalo said on SABC Sport as per iDiski Times.

“He’s giving you attack, he’s defending. He’s saved a situation where it was a counter-attack, all the way he sprinted and cleared the ball.

“These are the problems of the game, he could see ‘if I don’t sprint and save the situation, clearly they are going to score.”

Kaizer Chiefs still in transition

Although new signings Pule Mmodi and Edson Castillo have hit the ground running, the jury is still out on a number of other new players at Naturena. Du Preez, meanwhile, has shrugged off criticism from last season to become one of the club’s most important, consistent attackers. Chiefs face Sekhukhune on Wednesday night looking to bounce back from their MTN8 disappointment.
