Club rejects R103 million offer for ex-Kaizer Chiefs star, sets new price tag!

Romanian giants FCSB have reportedly rejected a deal worth R103 million for ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Siyabonga Ngezana.

Romanian giants FCSB have reportedly rejected a deal worth R103 million for ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Siyabonga Ngezana.

Ngezana left Chiefs in a deal that came as a shock to many, at the beginning of the current season.

When Ngezana arrived at FCSB, he did not have a smooth sailing ride at the club. He joined the team late from Chiefs, due to some visa issues. He then finally took to the field and scored an own goal on his unofficial debut. What was positive about that, however, was that the was handed the captains armband on debut.

On too official matters on the field, it took a long time for Ngezana to finally make his official debut for FCSB. Before then, he was failing to even make the match day squad, with the club president making hints of an early exit. The former Chiefs man turned it all round, however, first getting himself into the starting line up on a regular basis. From there, he started winning Man of Match awards and being part of the Romanian league’s Team of the Week. 

FCSB holding out for 7 million euros for Ngezana

It was that type of momentum that saw clubs from bigger leagues in Europe start to show interest in Ngezana. Chief amongst those has been French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient. Now that the transfer window is open again, it is rumoured that they have tabled a 5 million euro offer to FCSB. The club has since rejected that offer too, according to the multiple reports doing the rounds in Europe.

It has also since been revealed that the FCSB have placed a 7 million euro price tag on Ngezana. It is also thought that, if Lorient fail to produce that figure, the club will not budge. Should a move materialise, Chiefs would be smiling all the way to the bank. This is because they included a 10% sell on clause in the player’s deal 300 000 euro sale.
