Kaizer Chiefs coach Cavin Johnson is unhappy after their draw against Royal AM and looks at how to play attractive and special football.

Johnson believes Chiefs need to be special and attractive, but he is disappointed after their draw versus Thwihli Thwala.

The ex-Platinum Stars boss, Johnson, is not mincing his words as he says Chiefs’ display was below par and wants something special and attractive.

Amakhosi created a few clear-cut chances, but Chiefs were disappointingly disjointed, while the hosts were better on Sunday.

The soft-spoken Chiefs coach, Johnson, says there is a need to play a special brand of football, and they must be attractive to the eye.

“We missed four one-on-ones with their goalkeeper, two in the first half and two in the second half, but overall,” says Chiefs coach Johnson on special and attractive football per Sowetan.

“I don’t think my team played good football.

“I thought we could have played better football, so we have to go back [to the drawing board].

“Chiefs need to be better on the ball.

“We are not just a normal team; we are a special team, and I want us to play special football.

“We are going away with a draw, taking a point, but we need to be much better.”

Moreover, the Johannesburg-born coach, Johnson, also adds that the weather forced them to play ugly football as his troops didn’t get a win.

CHIEFS COACH BLAMES WEATHER FOR DRAW VS ROYAL AM

The seasoned mentor, Johnson, laments the weather in Pietermaritzburg, saying the Chiefs must learn to play in the scorching heat.

“The weather today was probably the best weather to play football in,” adds Johnson about Chiefs.

“But I think my team can only play football at 35°C.

“When it’s like this, humid and the climate is moderate, we seem to struggle.

“Ash [Du Preez] really, really put in a good shift and I expected him to score all the goals because he’s a goalscorer, and if he scored the goals.

“He’d be a hero today, but unfortunately, he didn’t. He’s back, he looks good.”

Up next for Chiefs is a clash against Milford FC in the Nedbank Cup Last 31 clash on Sunday afternoon at FNB Stadium.
