Cavin Johnson is impressing Chiefs management so far

Cavin Johnson’s role at interim coach is set to continue until 2024 after impressing the club’s management.

Amakhosi have two wins and two defeats under Johnson so far but his style of play has impressed fans especially in their last game against Swallows.

Chiefs have three fixtures remaining this year and if the former Platinum Stars coach can pick up six or seven points from a possible nine, he might even extend his stay at the club til the end of next year’s African Cup of Nations.

Amakhosi’s next fixtures are against Polokwane City, Richards Bay FC, and Sekhuhune United.

Johnson has had to make changes to the team since taking over and it looks like the team are finally heading into the right direction.

After the Swallows game, he praised his keeper Bruce Bvuma.

“Eight games [without a clean sheet], wow! Look, it is not about Bvuma, it is about the team in front of him,” Johnson told the media.

“Yes, we came [from the] away [game] with no goals conceded but I think the whole team has to be congratulated.

“Yes he got a chance, he has to make sure he keeps it and his head doesn’t go to his body and he’s able to maintain it,” said Johnson.
