Cape Town Spurs to announce Tanzanian star?

Cape Town Spurs fans have been waiting. The Urban Warriors are set to make the first signing of January 2024, and it’s a Tanzanian star.

Cape Town Spurs don’t have much time left to build a squad to escape relegation.

The DStv Premiership are expected to announce a new arrival from the continent.

CAPE TOWN SPURS WELCOME GADIEL MICHAEL

As confirmed by Singida’s CEO Japhet Makau, the 27-year-old captain and left-back, known as Gadiel Michael Kamagi by his parents, has left for Cape Town Spurs.

Michael, from the North port city of Tanga, has 20 international caps for Tanzania. His previous clubs include his homelands’ giants Young Africans and Simba.

Meanwhile, Spurs left-back in the first round of the season, Siyanda Msani, has reportedly returned to Mamelodi Sundowns after a loan spell.

OTHER NEW FACES

While the towering 30-year-old central defender Rafiq De Goede joined in December, more deals are expected.

Former Maritzburg United stars, Friday Samu and Lungelo Bhengu are training with the Urban Warriors in Parow.

Samu plays as a striker, while Bhengu is a right-back/central midfielder.

The bottom-placed Cape giants will return to action on 14 February against Royal AM away.
