Cape Town City sign Mamelodi Sundowns striker

Cape Town City have beefed up their striking department with the signing of an out-of-favour Mamelodi Sundowns striker.

Thabiso Kutumela has moved to the Citizens from the Tshwane giants just over a week after his future became the subject of speculation.

The news of Kutumela joining City was confirmed by Tinkler who said he needed to bring in someone he worked with before.

Tinkler and Kutumela worked together at both Orlando Pirates and Maritzburg United, before they joined City and Sundowns respectively.

“Correct, we feel we need a little bit more depth and opportunity for someone who has goalscoring attributes and someone I’ve worked with before,” Tinkler confirmed to journalists.

“We’re very, very happy to bring him because obviously, he will give us an added number.”
