Kaizer Chiefs returned to DStv Premiership action on Tuesday evening when they hosted Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium.

Neither team could find the back of the net in the first half despite a number of close headed attempts at either end.

The deadlock was to be broken in the 58th minute, through a Khanyisa Mayo header! There were no further goals on the night with the visitors walking away with all three points.

Following the match, Cape Town City FC took to social media to ‘troll’ Kaizer Chiefs regarding their new Amakhosi ‘crisp’. Take a look at their very own ‘three point’ flavoured crisp below.

Ntseki looking at the positives

The most important thing is for us to understand the three types of results. We played this game looking to have a win, and when you don’t win the game, yes, you are disappointed, but you also look at the positives,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach said, as quoted by TimesLive.

“The positives are that we had very good ball possession, we had very good tactical movements going forward in shifting play and changing points of attack.

“And it’s hard work for the players to get into those goalscoring positions. It’s for them to understand our approach in attack.”

Kaizer Chiefs star happy to return

“It was amazing to come back into the team and contribute with a goal and a good performance,” Edmilson Dove told the Kaizer Chiefs website.

“I have been eager to get back so when my chance came I wanted to play well and contribute to the team, and I am happy I did.

“Obviously, there are areas where I can improve. It wasn’t a 100 percent perfect game, but we learn every day.

“I should also give credit to my teammates because, at certain times in the match I felt a bit tired, but the guys kept pushing me and motivating me to keep going.”
