Cape Town City have signed Namibian international Aprocius Petrus – becoming the 8th DStv Premiership player from the land of the brave.

Cape Town City has a new Nambian in the DStv Premiership. The name is Aprocius Petrus.
The team, known as the Citizens, have made another transfer decision. Aprocius is the sixth signing of the season. The 24-year-old midfielder has joined as a free agent after recently leaving KF Liria in Kosovo.
Cape Town City made the announcement on Tuesday morning, a month after Petrus impressed at Afcon 2023.
“We are delighted to confirm the signing of Namibian international Aprocius Petrus, the club reported.
Petrus, who can also play as a left-back, scored one goal and created two assists in 13 games for Liria this season.
His previous clubs before Cape Town City include Eleven Arrows and Blue Waters in Namibia.
Other new signings at City this season:
Shaqeel April, 17 and Luyolo Slatsha, 20, were promoted from the reserve team.
Meanwhile, Petrus has become the eighth Namibia international in Mzansi’s top division. Some of the biggest names include Peter Shaulile, Deon Hotto and Riaan Hanamub.

The young superstar Prins Tjiueza nearly made it nine players in February. Tijueza agreed to sign for the Cape Town giants, but the deal was cancelled in the eleventh hour.
Reports revealed that Tijueza failed his medical test, but Cape Town City will have another look at the 22-year-old at the end of the season.

In the meantime, Petrus could make his Cape Town City debut in a rather big game. It could be against the mighty Kaizer Chiefs at the DHL Stadium on 30 March.
