Struggling Orlando Pirates travel to the Mother City for a DStv Premiership clash against Cape Town Spurs on Wednesday night.

The Buccaneers come into the match following back-to-back draws in the league and are desperate for a win.

Spurs, on the otherhand, are more desperate for points than the Soweto Giants. The Cape side are yet to win a DStv Premiership match, having lost all their eight games so far this campaign.

Orlando Pirates desperate for a win

In a little under two weeks since doing battle in a cup fixture in Soweto, the two sides now lock horns at DHL Stadium with a crucial three league points up for grabs.

Orlando Pirates should dominate the game but have struggled for goals of late. Spurs know that a draw could give them the much needed confidence but a win could turn their fortunes around.

The Buccaneers have several injury worries heading into the clash, with goalkeeper Sipho Chaine and Innocent Maela on the sidelines.

The duo is among players unlikely to feature on Wednesday along with fullback Paseka Mako, who is also recovering from a knock picked up in recent weeks.

Orlando Pirates have been poor on the road and should Spurs play their best football of the season, they might get something out of the game.

Bucs coach Jose Riveiro said that he was not concerned about his side’s league form despite being 12 on the log.
