The player has been a notable absentee from the last three Sundowns matchday squads in the CAF Champions League against Al Hilal, Coton Sport, and Saturday’s meeting with Al Ahly.

KickOff has spoken to several sources who also verified the allegations against this player.

This isn’t the first time a local player has wound up in trouble after substance abuse. The most famous and high-profile example was former Bafana Bafana and Tottenham defender Mbulelo Oldjohn Mabizela. He copped a six-month ban from football after testing positive for marijuana while he was a Sundowns player in 2006.
