The wait for the breakthrough wasn’t long, with Augustine Kwem beating the offside trap to collect a long ball from Diamond Thopola and slot it past Elvis Chipezeze, handing Chippa their first goal in the bubble.

This set off a dominant period from the men in green, who went on a frantic search for the equaliser.

Bareng Mogale could have drawn level moments before the break, but his shot rolled in front the face of goal.

The second half kicked off a little more subdued than the first, with the first real chance at goal coming in the hour mark.

This was when Gerald Phiri tried to sneak one in from a set-piece situation, bu Chippa keeper Veli Mothwa was alert to the danger, as he tipped the ball out for a corner kick.

There was a moment of controversy ten minutes later when Chipezeze was left exposed after a counter from the Chilli Boys. The Zimbabwean shot-stopper took matters into his own hands with a harsh challenge on Thabiso Lebitso, and was lucky to escape with just a yellow card.

However, Mothwa remained the busier of the two keepers, with Baroka players peppering from afar, but not doing enough to trouble the Chippa skipper.

The Chilli Boys eventually held to on to claim maximum points, which pulled them up to 12th place in the standings, while Baroka remain in 14th place.
