Bafana Bafana’s new star Elias Mokwana has attracted interest overseas following his explosive performance for the national team.

The Sekhukhune United attacker scored his first goal for Bafana against Andorra in a friendly match last month. He continued his good run of form against Algeria a few days later assisting Iqraam Rayners.

Football agent Pontsho Maduma told KickOff that the Bafana star caught the eye of a few people last month.

“Look, we are looking overseas. There has been a couple of calls from overseas, but locally we haven’t heard from anyone. Nothing concrete really,” Madumo told the publication.

“We have not received offers, but it’s just enquiries from people we’re working with, enquiring about a player who is currently doing well.”

New Bafana star Mokwana could move to Europe soon

Bafana Bafana was a boost for the player, he did very well. We have associates we are working with(overseas) asking questions regarding the player, no offers as yet,” he said.

“There were applause from people and congratulations from people, but with the offers, it’s still early days. It was just associates asking about the player.”

Mokwana has had a good season, having scored four league goals for Sekhukhune. Mokwana impressed the Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs legends during two FIFA Series international friendly matches.

The 24-year-old Bafana new star is also reportedly targeted by Kaizer Chiefs, Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns. According to a report from iDiski Times, it would take R35 million to get the Bafana man away from Babina Noko.

Elias Mokwana continues to impress

Earlier this month, Mokwana said he was unaware of the price tag.

“I don’t know anything about that because my agent has not said anything.”

“So, I know nothing. All I am focused on is here at Sekhukhune and we will see what happens going forward. “It has always been my dream to play abroad,” said the Bafana star.
