Stellenbosch, still buzzing after their top eight finish in the league last season, have sealed a deal for Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota.

According to reports via SABC Sport, 26-year-old Kgaogelo Sekgota should be a Stellenbosch player before the kickoff of the 2023-24 PSL season on Friday. Sekgota could make his debut against Orlando Pirates.
After losing Junior Mendieta to Sundowns, Stellies were keen to bring in a player with creative capabilities and Sekgota fits the bill. Manager Steve Barker is also a known admirer of the player. SuperSport boss Gavin Hunt was also reported to be interested, according to the publication’s sources, and Moroka Swallows also tried to re-sign a player who was on their books for the 2020-21 campaign.
Chiefs travelled to Botswana for a friendly on Saturday against Township Rollers but Sekgota was not part of the group.

With Stellenbosch facing Pirates in their season opener on Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs fans must wait until Sunday for their first taste of of DStv Premiership action for the season. They face Chippa at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
