The Amakhosi captain had to come off in the first half with substitute goalkeeper Brandon Peterson taking his place.

Zwane confirmed that Khune’s injury was “not bad” but was uncertain if the skipper would be available for their next clash with Chippa United set to take place next Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

ZWANE ON KHUNE’S INJURY

“I thought maybe he had snapped his groin, but when I had a chat with him, and even our physio told me it’s not bad,” coach Arthur Zwane said as quoted by KickOff.com.

“We don’t know whether he will be out for the next game in terms of availability, or for the Cup game in Durban. So, we will see, we will monitor him.”

Meanwhile, in other news, Zwane has explained why he decided to take Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana off after he scored a hat-trick against Stellies.

The Burundian striker picked up a booking early in the second half and ‘10111’ says he wanted to protect him from getting a second yellow card that would result in a red card – and suspension.

ZWANE EXPLAINS WHY HE TOOK OUT BIMENYIMANA

“After scoring the third goal, I was more worried about Caleb, he was on a yellow and for us to keep him out of the field is because by nature he is aggressive, so he could have easily picked up a second bookable offense and then we miss him in the next games,” he told SuperSport TV as quoted by Soccer Laduma.

“I had to take him out, bring on ‘Mshini’ [Nkosingiphile Ngcobo] to slow down the game but also knowing that we still have Keagan [Dolly], [Kgaogelo] Sekgota and ‘Ash’ [Ashley Du Preez] upfront.

“So he can easily connect with them to score more goals and we actually dropped the tempo, which I’m quite not happy about, we could have easily scored four goals, five, six goals today because you’re gonna need these goals come the end of the season.

“But there’s no doubt, we played against a good team, it’s just that today I think we were far a better team.”
