Another new player spotted at Kaizer Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs seem to be keeping their promise to develop their own talent these days. A new kid has seemingly left the country with the first team to spend pre-season in Turkey.

KAIZER CHIEFS PROMOTE NKOSANA MBUTHU?

Soon before Amakhosi headed for the airport to travel to Turkey on Thursday, one of the reserve team players, Mbuthu, age 18, was seen with two promoted peers Donay Jansen and Mfundo Vilakazi with travelling bags and all. A few hours later, reports confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs left for Turkey for pre-season. Does it mean Mbuthu, who plays as a left-sided midfielder/winger, is part of the squad? Most certainly, especially with the likes of Tebogo Potsane, Mduduzi Mdantsane and George Matlou staying behind in Mzansi due to injuries.

Additionally, Mbuthu’s peer, Siphesile Tati has also been part of the first team for pre-season.

“Kaizer Chiefs Chiefs’ talent Siphesihle Tati is currently training with the senior side as he is being assessed by the coaching team,” iDiski Times’ leading reporter Sinethemba Makonco reported last.

“iDiski Times received information that the midfielder is currently training with the senior side, and he is under the assessment and watchful eye of Fernando Da Cruz, who will soon be announced as the assistant coach,” the report added.

Furthermore, Amakhosi are reportedly close to announcing the left-back Bongani Sam. The 26-year-old is available for free after his deal with Orlando Pirates expired on 30 June.

TRIP TO TURKEY

Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director – Kaizer Motaung Jr – said the journey overseas will allow the new technical team to assess the squad and develop the mental readiness for next season’s work.

“The most crucial aspect of a pre-season camp is to make sure that the team is building team unity and overall mental readiness for the season ahead,” Motaung said.

“These are vital as every top team needs to work together to build its internal strength in order to be prepared for the challenges ahead. More specifically for us, with a new incoming coaching structure, it helps for the new coaching team to have the squad away from their normal environment in order to assess what work must be done and how they need to work going forward together.

“We are looking forward to a very productive preparation process, and we hope the team will be able to focus on the job at hand as we gear towards starting the season very strongly,” the Kaizer Chiefs boss added.
