AmaZulu FC will fancy their chances when they clash with  Mamelodi Sundowns  at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday. Kick off is at 20:15.

Usuthu extended their unbeaten run to three matches in the league when they secured a 2-1 win over Bloemfontein Celtic away in their last fixture. They now sit 12th on the PSL log.

Milos Lacny, a new Usuthu recruit, said he is looking forward to the challenge.

“I cannot wait to get out on the pitch and show everybody what I am capable of doing,” he said. “I have been training with the team and familiarized myself with the players,” Lacny said.

“So, we have a bit of an understanding for now but I know we can improve in attack and I look forward to helping this club achieve our goals this season.

Defending champions  Sundowns, meanwhile,  extended their unbeaten run to four league games after snatching a 1-0 win over Polokwane City 1-0 in their previous outing.

However, Masandawana remained second on the league standings – seven points behind the leaders, Kaizer Chiefs. Both teams have played 14 games.

Sundowns goalkeeper, Denis Onyango, took heart from the team’s densive efforts so far.

“So, the guys are doing their best to defend well. The back four are talking to the midfielders, the midfielders are talking to the strikers,” Onyango said.

“Because we defend from the top. So the team has been doing that very well, especially in the away games.”

He’ll be hoping for another solid defensive shift from his teammates over the weekend.

Kick-off time and prediction

Kick off time: 4 January, 20:15.

Prediction:

Mamelodi Sundowns are favourites, their winning odds are  1.85 meaning the expected chance of winning is 54% – and the Brazilians win more than half their fixtures with these odds.

For AmaZulu, though, their expected chance of winning is just 27% – and they rarely get a win when the odds are this long.
