Mosele started all eight of Orlando Pirates’ opening matches last season before falling off the radar at the Buccaneers.

His agent Paul Mitchell has since provided an update on the Bafana Bafana man.

“He had an injury, I think it was in the derby (against Chiefs). He has taken some time to come back and obviously you know you’ve got to fight for your place.” his agent said as quoted by SoccerLaduma.

“Pirates have been doing very well and it’s not always easy to just go (back) straight in. But look, I’m confident in Goodman he will get a good pre-season into his legs and start the season where he left off before. So that’s where we are with Goodman.”

In other news, Manchester United first team coach Benni McCarthy believes Orlando Pirates shouldn’t celebrate their 2022/23 campaign.

The Buccaneers lifted TWO titles in the form of the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup.

They also finished in second place in the DStv Premiership, albeit well behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Despite their double triumph and securing CAF Champions League football for next season, McCarthy believes it wasn’t ‘good enough’!

Buccaneers must do better – Benni McCarthy

“It’s hard to say if it was a good season for Pirates because you play all year to win the league.” Benni McCarthy told KickOff.

“Winning the MTN8 Cup is great, and winning the Nedbank Cup is also great but I think the big one that you chase is the league.

“In there, they’ve had a great season but by their standards, that’s not good enough. You’re supposed to be pushing Sundowns all the way to the wire. It should be a far closer contest than what it is.”
