Since leaving Kaizer Chiefs, Khama Billiat has been unemployed for over six months.

The Zimbabwean star rejected a contract extension offer by the Amakhosi in July, ending his five-year spell at the club.

According to fellow Amakhosi and Zimbabwean legend Robson Muchichwa, Billiat’s agent Godfrey Bakasa is to blame for the chaos that followed!

“First of all as an agent you need to get a better deal for your player before advising him to leave where he is needed. You don’t cancel a deal when you don’t have any concrete deal elsewhere.” Muchichwa told KickOff.

“To me, it seems these guys Khama and his agent, whatever his name is, they rejected Chiefs without having clinched any concrete deal elsewhere. If you are a manager, first of all you make a deal for your client before you move him. It was a wrong move.

“Billiat has not kicked a ball for more than seven months now, they must be regretting their decision. It’s difficult for teams to buy a player who hasn’t played for seven months.”

In other news, Kaizer Chiefs defender Luke Fleurs is set to make his official debut for the club next month.

Fleurs joined the Glamour Boys at the beginning of the season as a free agent after parting ways with SuperSport United.

The 23-year-old centre-back made 70 appearances for Matsatsantsa before leaving the club at the end of last season.

And now, coach Cavin Johnson has confirmed the talented defender is in line to earn his debut for the club!

“Luke is very close as far as that is concerned. Yes, he came in probably three quarters to the season as a free agent, and you know he had to work very hard to get himself a club,” Johnson told Sowetan.

“And he got Chiefs as his next destination, and when he started at the village, he had to work very hard. But since we closed in December for those few weeks, he has come back looking a lot fresher. And now that we started training, Luke is looking very sharp.”

The publication further claimed Fleurs will likely make his debut for the club when the DStv Premiership resumes following the ongoing AFCON break.

Chiefs are due to face TS Galaxy on 13 February at the FNB Stadium.
