African giants, not Chiefs lead race to land Pitso Mosimane?

Pitso Mosimane looks to be edging towards a blockbuster new role on the African continent, at the expense of Kaizer Chiefs!

Look away Kaizer Chiefs fans, the Nigerian national team are seriously considering hiring Pitso Mosimane, according to the latest reports!

Nigeria are looking to find a permanent Jose Peseiro replacement and new reports suggest fresh talks with Mosimane are underway.

Mosimane is currently out on a rescue mission in Saudi Arabia at Abha FC however it remains to be seen whether he’ll be extending his contract beyond the end of the season.

And now, according to KickOff magazine, have hinted that Nigeria have opened new talks with the Kagiso born mentor.

Okocha backs Chiefs linked Mosimane for Super Eagles job

“Without any doubt, Pitso Mosimane is one of the best African coaches,” Nigerian legend JayJay Okocha said as quoted by The Will.

“We have young players and it is all about getting them to play as a team and not as individual superstars. This is where the work of coaches will have to come into place”.

Look away Kaizer Chiefs fans! The dream of seeing Pitso Mosimane take charge at Naturena has taken a major dent.

This comes after his agent confirmed the iconic coach’s desire to undertake a new challenge after his Saudi Arabian gig.

Mosimane signed a short term contract at Saudi Arabian top flight side Abha FC at the beginning of the year.

And with Kaizer Chiefs looking for a new permanent solution to their coaching crisis, many believed it was the perfect time for Jingles to take charge of the ‘sleeping giant’!

This however now looks unlikely as the Kagiso born coach now wants to take up a national team coaching job!

Amakhosi to lose out on Pitso Mosimane?

“I will tell you definitely, the next move the coach would like to do or the coach and the whole technical team would like to do is a national team,” Pitso Mosimane’s agent Moira Tlhagale told IDiskiTimes.

“So we are looking for those options for them because that’s the mandate they have given me. But obviously, if there is a project, also local, that comes, we’ll consider it.”
