Kaizer Chiefs and Italian sportswear brand Kappa have joined forces once again following Tuesday’s kit unveiling launch.

The club launched their home and away jerseys for the new season and hopes that the renewed partnership will bring back the glory days to Naturena.

The visually stunning away jersey was a testament to Chiefs’ determination to dominate both on and off the field, said the club marketing director Jessica Motaung.

“We are thrilled to unveil our new jerseys in conjunction with Kappa,” she said.

“These designs epitomise our brand identity and the loyalty of our supporters. We believe that these kits will not only inspire our players on the field, but also resonate with the Amakhosi faithful in a profound way.”

Fans not sold with Chiefs/Kappa reunion

Some fans are not sold on the whole idea of Chiefs reuniting with Kappa.

In the late 80s and 90s, Chiefs were dominant, winning trophies left, right and centre. Their success carried on in the the 2000s thanks to a generation of great players like Thabo Mooki, Shoes Moshoeu, Jabu Pule to name a few.

Fast forward to 2023, Amakhosi have failed to win a single trophy in eight years. On Tuesday, fans reacted to the new kit, saying the club’s fortunes are unlikely to change this coming season.
