As a reminder, Pitso Mosimane is the current coach of UAE Pro League side Al Wahda.

He is the former coach of PSL sides SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns, as well as Al Ahly of Egypt and Al Ahli Saudi of Saudi Arabia.

Born in Kagiso on 26 July 1964, the now 59-year-old Mosimane is one of the longest serving and most decorated coaches in all of South African football, having won multiple major trophies with Matsatsantsa between 2001 and 2007 and Masandawana between 2012 and 2020.

In 2023, Mosimane launched his football development programme, Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools.

The 2023/24 UAE Pro League has just begun with just two matches played to date.

Al Wahda in seventh place

Mosimane’s Al Wahda lost their opener 2-1 against Al Bataeh at home, before rebounding to beat Al Jazira by a similar scoreline away from home.

That puts Mosimane’s side in seventh place in the 14-team league.

Al Wahda will next be in league action at home against 13th-place Hatta on 22 September.
