Pitso Mosimane denied win on Abha FC debut

Pitso Mosimane was denied victory in his first official match in charge of Saudi Arabian outfit Abha FC on Thursday night.

Abha FC, who are in the bottom half of the log, took on fourth-placed Al-Taawoun on the night and the two sides settled for a share of spoils.

PITSO MOSIMANE STARTS ABHA FC CAREER WITH DRAW

Both Abha FC and Al-Taawoun looked set to be heading for a goalless draw until Mosimane’s men took the lead deep in stoppage time through Waleed Al-Ahmad’s own goal.

However, their celebrations were short-lived as Al-Taawoun equalised three minutes later through Aschraf El Mahdiou.

The result means Mosimane’s Abha FC are winless in nine league games – seven defeats and two draws – and they are 17th on the log.

WILL MOSIMANE HELP ABHA FC AVOID RELEGATION?

Mosimane’s mandate is to ensure that Abha FC survive relegation, and he took that project because he believes that he can achieve that.

As things stand, Abha FC are four points above the relegation zone, and Mosimane understands the importance of hitting the ground running.

Abha FC will face All Feiha in their next league match which is scheduled for Sunday, 25 February at 16:00 SA time.
