Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that he had had talks of some sort with parties in Japan over his next coaching move.

Mosimane has been linked with Kaizer Chiefs, who want a new coach installed before the January transfer window.

However that move might not happen given that there would need to be a clearout of coaches to make way for Mosimane’s generals.

“I have my generals who are [always] around me,” Mosimane said according to Sunday World.

“So, if there’s any movement, we have a bigger discussion. I’m the leader, I’m the face of the programme, because I’m the head coach.

“But I’m not the only guy who decides we should go here or there. What if MT Sports decides to send CVs to strategic places? I have to remove myself from there.”

What is his next move?

Mosimane hinted that he would be moving on to new pastures but also seemed to suggest that he could take a national team job on the African continent.

“If they want to do that on our behalf, they can. To be honest, there is interest now and probably in a different space. Asia, not meaning the Gulf, but Asia the East. There have been talks.

“There has also been an interesting one from North America. And why not? Why not go east – Japan, China, those areas?

“If you can get a project that’s interesting in the Gulf and a similar project in Asia, probably I would go to Asia.

“And there has also been interest, not really interest but just a conversation in Europe. But I mean in eastern Europe, why not?

“And probably there might be interest here at home. And also, maybe national teams would be nice, but it depends on which one.

“It’s the Africa Cup of Nations in January, so that might be a bit too early. But maybe after January when the World Cup qualifiers continue.”
