It is believed that a police clearance from SAPS that is supposed to go with Ngezana’s visa was holding up his move from Chiefs to FCSB. As a result, he was still stuck in South Africa while his new teammates started their pre-season, jetting off to the Netherlands. There was also a lot of concern that the versatile defender would not be able to join his new team in their preparations for the new season.

That may have proven to be the case, as a very promising start ended in rather very acrimonious circumstances.

Ngezana captains FCSB but slip helps POAK score equaliser

Ngezana took to the field with 30 minutes to go, and was handed the armband in the absence of of the club’s captain and vice-captain on the pitch. What would’ve started as a proud moment ended in despair for the South African, who slipped in the 70th minute to concede POAK’s equaliser.
