Percy Tau and his Al Ahly teammates will face Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup following their 1-0 win over Seattle Sounders on Saturday.

Mohamed Magdy netted a late goal to help Al Ahly reach the semi-finals, and they will now get to play European champions Real Madrid.

The match between Al Ahly and Real Madrid is scheduled for Wednesday, 8 February at Prince Moulay Abdella Stadium.

Al Ahly are gunning for gold at this year’s FIFA Club World Cup after failing to achieve that mission with Pitso Mosimane in two consecutive years.

In 2020, Mosimane led Al Ahly to a historic third place finish and thus walked away with a bronze medal, and this was the case in 2021.

However, at the time (2021), Tau couldn’t feature as he was injured although Mosimane included him in his squad for the FIFA Club World Cup.
