New Mamelodi Sundowns midfield signing Lesiba Nku outlines his plans and ambitions to lift trophies as he prepares for life in the star-studded line-up.

Nku joined Sundowns from the relegated Marumo Gallants and he was unveiled by the reigning DStv Premiership champions last week.

In a chat with club legends Hlompho Kekana and Tiyani Mabunda who also hail from Limpopo, Nku is already setting his sights on winning trophies.

NEW SUNDOWNS SIGNING REVEALS AMBITIONS

The 27-year-old industrious midfielder helped Gallants reach the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup last season, and his aim is to win the lucrative Champions League with Sundowns.

While Sundowns did not provide contract details, media reports reveal that he Nku has signed a five-year deal.

“I am grateful to be here. The journey from Polokwane to Chloorkop is a long one, so one needs to work very hard. (https://kidsrkids.com/) There’s no time to play here,” Nku said on YouTube podcast, Pitch Side.

“I am not here to rest but I am here to work. I just want to win the league and the Champions League.

“Coming to Sundowns, I think I will achieve more. This is where you’ll see the best of me. Away games are the most difficult in CAF competitions and having experienced that with Marumo has prepared me to be a better player. The experiences will definitely help me here at Sundowns, especially in the Champions League.

“This is a big team and playing for such a team comes with a lot of expectations and I am ready to live up to those expectations.”

Checking out his statistics for the Limpopo-based club that will campaign in the Motsepe Foundation Championship next season, the dreadlocked Nku scored two times and provided three assists in their continental exploits.

Furthermore, the right winger said he cannot wait to join the post-match celebrations of the Masandawana family where players join the fans in their traditional dance and clapping hands.

Having also officially announced the arrival of former Stellenbosch midfielder Junior Mendieta, Sundowns also released a number of players ahead of the upcoming campaign.
